“It is not the healthy who need a doctor…”

This morning as I read these words from the second Chapter of Mark I sensed God reaffirming to me His desire for my life and His body, the church, not the building, not a church service, not a Sunday School class, but His people in real life situations. I tend to focus on living a comfortable life, like most everyone else. No conflict, no issues, self-gratification. It’s easy to focus on self and not on others. But Jesus said “it is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Jesus said this while He was eating with a tax collector and the tax collector’s friends at his home. I believe Jesus wants to live through me to reveal Himself to those who are sick…those who are in need of Jesus. But it’s kind of hard for Jesus to do that through me when I’m not around sick people. Sick people have conflicts, issues, and are focused on self. It’s messy stuff. Help me Lord to allow you to live through me so you can save people like me, sinners.
