“…there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

As I read Chapters 15 and 16 in the Book of Luke this morning I saw again how Jesus continues to “seek and find the lost” and His joy when finding that which was lost! In three stories Jesus describes how He feels, I think this means how important it is to God and should be for us. “I tell you in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent…In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents….For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. So they began to celebrate…But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead is alive again; he was lost and is found.” Like the parable of the lost son have you realized that you need Jesus in your life and come to your senses and decided to be found by Jesus? Seek Jesus! Jesus said how hard it was for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven. In Chapter 16 he reiterates that thought that “you cannot serve both God and Money” and in the story of the rich man and Lazarus when the rich man died he found himself “in hell, where he was in torment.” God knows my heart and He knows your heart. Lord help me to focus my life on You and not on stuff, to enjoy having a relationship with You and your people. You desire to celebrate with me and all who turn to you, to enjoy life together!
